Back in December 2008, the Altadena Town Council voted to support a franchise agreement with the county. What has happened since?
From the county:
The trash franchise agreement is in the works. Altadena's franchise agreement
will include all parts of the Altadena area. The County is still working on
outreach and consensus building for some key areas....that is why Altadena's
franchise agreement has not be established. The current system is an open
market....with very little oversight and no contract with the County. Very hard
to control current vendors under the current system. A franchise agreement with
the County will come with requirements and limitations on price increase, etc.

When there is an update, Town Council will have the Dept of Public Works come
and present to the public to update us. For now, just know that it is still being worked.
