The 2009 Altadena Town Council Elections will be held Saturday June 6. Any Altadena resident who is at least 18 years of age, is a citizen of the United States of America, and resides within the Census Tract which he/she seeks to represent, may qualify as a candidate for Town Council elections.
Candidates will need to file an application and pay a filing fee. Application Packets can be obtained at the Altadena Community Center located at 730 East Altadena Drive, Altadena, CA. Office hours are 8:00. a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Application forms and related information are also available from the Website (see links below).
Your complete Application must include:
-A completed and signed Application Form
-A check or money order in the amount of $35.00 made out to Altadena Town Council.
-A statement of your qualifications for office.
Deadline for filing your application at the Community Center is May 8, 2009 at 5:00 pm. You must bring proof of residency.
The Altadena Town Council will hold a “Candidate’s Forum” at the May 19, 2009 Altadena Town Council meeting at which the Candidate’s statement will be read. It is not required but recommended that each Candidate appear and make an oral presentation of his/her qualifications, explaining his/her motivations and goals for seeking office.
